Cabling and networking for growing SMEs
From a single office refresh to a full site fit-out, we design and install structured cabling, Wi-Fi and wider network infrastructure that keeps your business connected. Our engineers work across Buckinghamshire and the surrounding counties, covering everything from Cat6 and fibre to point-to-point links and satellite connectivity.
Network infrastructure, installed properly
A reliable network starts with the cabling behind the walls and the kit in the comms cabinet. We plan, install and terminate the infrastructure your SME runs on, then make sure it is labelled, tested and documented so it is easy to support later.
Structured cabling (Cat6 and Cat6a)
Design and install copper data cabling for offices, meeting rooms and production areas.
Fibre cabling
Run fibre between buildings, floors and comms rooms where distance or bandwidth demands it.
Wi-Fi design and installation
Survey your site and deploy access points that give consistent coverage across the whole premises.
Switches and network hardware
Supply and configure managed switches, routers and firewalls sized to your business.
Patch panels and comms cabinets
Build tidy, labelled cabinets with patch panels so faults are quick to diagnose and fix.
Office fit-outs
Work alongside your builders and fit-out team to get data, voice and Wi-Fi ready for day one.
Point-to-point and point-to-multipoint links
Connect separate buildings or sites wirelessly where trenching fibre is not practical.
Satellite connectivity
Provide internet access at rural, temporary or hard-to-reach sites using satellite services.
Cabling & Networking FAQs
What services does Equate Group provide?
Managed IT is our core service, covering responsive helpdesk, proactive monitoring, and long-term technology strategy. Alongside it we run Cyber Security, Telecoms, Mobile & IoT, and CCTV & Access Control, and we weave AI capabilities through every service we deliver.
What size of business do you typically support?
Most of our clients are between 10 and 250 users. If you are bigger or smaller than that and the fit still feels right, we are happy to talk.
Do you only work with businesses in Buckinghamshire?
We are based in Wendover, Buckinghamshire, and a lot of our clients are local. That said, we support businesses across the UK. Remote support covers the whole country, and on-site visits are arranged where they are needed.
How do I get started?
Call us on 0345 1255400, email hello@equategroup.com, or use the contact form on this site. We start with a short discovery conversation to understand what you already have and what you need, with no obligation to commit.
Can you work alongside our existing IT provider during transition?
Yes. Most of our clients come to us with an incumbent provider, and we work with them during the handover so nothing drops. We will agree a clear cut-over plan with you before any change lands.
What are your support response times?
Response times depend on the service level agreed in your contract. Our standard Managed IT SLA covers business hours with priority response for system-down incidents. We will confirm the exact targets in your service schedule.
How are your services priced?
Managed services are priced per user or per device on a monthly basis, with the scope and inclusions set out in a service schedule. Project work is quoted separately. Everything is transparent and itemised, you will not see surprise charges on an invoice.
Is IT support included in Managed IT?
Yes. Responsive helpdesk support is built into every Managed IT contract. We do not sell support as a one-off hourly service or take out-of-contract break-fix calls. If you are looking for IT support, you are looking for a Managed IT contract with us.
What does Managed IT include?
Responsive helpdesk, proactive monitoring, patching, backups with tested restores, user onboarding and offboarding, Microsoft 365 lifecycle management, a cyber security baseline, and strategic IT reviews. Cyber Essentials certification, managed print, and add-on services bolt on top. We tailor the exact inclusions to your business.
How long are the contract terms?
Managed IT agreements run for an initial term of 36 months, with 12-month renewal periods after that. The longer initial term lets us invest properly in your environment, standards, documentation, and automation, rather than firefighting month to month.
Can you help us achieve Cyber Essentials certification?
Yes. We guide clients through both Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus, scoping the assessment, closing any technical gaps, preparing the submission, and supporting the external audit. Most engagements take 4 to 8 weeks depending on starting posture.
Do you provide VoIP phone systems?
Yes. We deploy and manage cloud-hosted VoIP systems with desk phones, softphones, and mobile apps. The system scales from a single handset to multi-site deployments, with features like call recording, auto-attendants, call queuing, and Microsoft Teams integration available.
Do you supply mobile handsets and airtime?
Yes. We source handsets, SIMs, and airtime contracts from the major UK networks at business rates, and we handle the procurement, provisioning, and lifecycle so you do not deal with the carriers directly.
Do you install new CCTV systems?
Yes. We design, install, and maintain IP CCTV systems ranging from small single-site deployments to multi-site networks. Everything we fit is recorded to a secure on-site NVR with optional cloud backup and remote viewing through a mobile app.
